Product Catalog Overview

ATPCO’s Product Catalog is an electronic record of potential products and services that might be offered by an airline (or 3rd party) in a standardized yet flexible format, enabling each airline the flexibility to define its products and bundles and then allowing the price to be calculated using traditional pricing data or calculated or adjusted dynamically. Products can be offered as a standalone product, incorporated into pre-defined bundles, or dynamically bundled to create dynamic offers. It supports the shift from traditional static fare filing to dynamic offer creation, a move toward modernizing airline retailing and personalizing flight shopper experiences.

Each airline has its own Product Catalog (Airline Catalog) that has the following characteristics:

  • Functions as an electronic record of an airline’s possible offerings, including transportation service (e.g., right to travel) and ancillary products and services, enabling easy bundling and unbundling of products.
  • Serves as a master set of product data that can be extracted and distributed as Supplier Catalog data, Airline Profile data, or both based on each airline’s unique requirements (such as bilateral agreements and internal business rules).
  • Has a cross-reference (to the extent it applies and is possible) to underlying traditional data to ease the transition and interoperability of moving to offers and orders.

The purpose of this document is to introduce technical users to the APIs and provide instructions for using them.
